Interested in the Lowenstein House program?


Individuals are typically referred from mental health facilities, private doctors, Vocational Rehabilitation, hospitals and other social service agencies.  However, individuals can refer themselves to the program. Members will be accepted without regards to race, handicap, religion, sex or national origin by meeting the following criteria: 


  1. At least 18 years of age.

  2. A resident of Shelby County Tennessee or eligible to establish Shelby County residency.

  3. Have a primary psychiatric diagnosis, excluding personality disorders, developmental disabilities and alcohol/drug abuse.  (These can be secondary diagnoses.)

  4. Currently stable and compliant with medication(s) if necessary, to control symptoms.

  5. Capable of self-medication.

  6. Interested in attending the Lowenstein House program, as membership is voluntary.

  7. Not dangerous to self, others or property.

  8. Able to provide own transportation to program.
